Click this link for some pictures of my students, Lisa, Michelle and Albert with their parents in Kenting on the Chateau Hotel's private beach.

I'm so envious!
I want to go! Maybe I'll wait 'til November when it's cooler. Everyone has cancelled their trips to the mountainous regions of Taiwan and are all heading to the beaches, especially Kenting so there may not be any vacant rooms at this time. :(

A large section of river embankment at the back of our house collapsed during the typhoon.  Posted by Hello

J is really into the Silly Sentences game that grandma bought for him. Dad makes suggestions but he's getting pretty good on his own now. Posted by Hello

Leave some for me. I have a short 'movie clip' of the happy birthday song taken with the camera which came out OK. Posted by Hello

We can't have more hospital pics than birthday pics now can we? Here's Jocelyn (foreground) and Willy (half out of frame) who are Lillian's kids. Shr-fang is a neighbour and Jaosn's best mate. Lillian's hubby Johnny is on the left and K's mum is on the sofa. Posted by Hello

You're probably wondering why I was taking pics when J was lying in bed. Jason was bored and restless so the camera was a kind of distraction. He looks teary here but right after each photo he'd be quite eager to see the image and it somehow cheered him up.  Posted by Hello

He didn't like the bed so spent much of the time on the sofa watching TV (with cable! we were in a so-called VIP room, which wasn't that expensive actually. Considering we were in a hospital the toilet was not exactly spotless and the odd ant was in evidence too. The bananas on the drip stand are mine.  Posted by Hello

The equipment was quite noisy, and frankly I don't know if it was really necessary - at least not the oxygen tent. The monitors would have alerted staff if he was having trouble breathing. Posted by Hello

Looks happy here but the drip in his hand was quite painful by the second night, so we discharged ourselves on Tuesday morning because he was much better and we only live nearby. Posted by Hello

Drama as Jason goes to the ER

Just before we put him to bed at about midnight his cough had got really bad and he was making a very odd sound. I was very worried he was having trouble breathing and didn't want him to have trouble through the night so we took him to the ER down the road. Docs wanted him to stay in for observation.
Poor Jason on his birthday. He had to sleep inside an oxygen tent which was very humid and he had a drip in his hand, and monitors stuck to his chest. He was not a happy teddy I can tell you.Kelly and I took turns but it was hard to get much sleep. Posted by Hello
